DC Research Series: Building Researchable Questions

DC Research Series: Building Researchable Questions In-Person

A collaboration of your Academic Commons Research Team and DC faculty, this interactive workshop explores the construction of research questions and selection of study designs. Over lunch (provided), you can shape your theoretical research ideas into practical, researchable questions with the help of the amazing Drs Burnham and Lady!

This session acts as a preparatory step to the August 18th DC Research Mentor panel and is ideally attended after the completion of the self-paced "Researcher Identity and Research Problems" module. A mix of qualitative and quantitative methods will be explored with examples from faculty and students.

Prior to attendance, please review the following article:

Barroga, E., & Matanguihan, G. J. (2022). A Practical Guide to Writing Quantitative and Qualitative Research Questions and Hypotheses in Scholarly ArticlesJournal of Korean Medical Science37(16), e121-18. https://doi.org/10.3346/jkms.2022.37.e121

Important note: this session is one of 3 parts of the DC summer research series. Students are invited to take part in all components but are not required to complete any before attending the next. All levels of engagement are welcome!
